What a difference a month makes

Wow! We can't believe Syd is one month old already! Where did the month go? We may never remember, since we are seriously sleep deprived. Sydney weighed in at 6 lbs, 3 oz. at her last doctors appointment last week. She is growing quickly and is more alert each day. We can't get enough of her!! She has a set of pipes on her, she screams bloody murder at every diaper change and whenever her binky falls out of her mouth! Here are a few recent shots of her. She's here!

Sydney Nicole Champagne was born at 4:42 AM on August 27th, almost 6 weeks before her due date. She weighed 4 lbs, 11 oz. and was 18.5 inches long. She spent her first two weeks in NICUs at Children's Hospital and Beverly Hospital as her lungs were not fully developed at birth. She's been home now for almost 2 weeks and we are all adjusting well. She's absolutely perfect, just tiny, but she grows stronger every day! We are two very proud parents!!

28 weeks

Sydney's boyfriends

She's not even born yet, but Sydney has two boyfriends! I'm starting her early to give her daddy a hard time! Two of my best friends, Kristie and Kyly, gave birth this week to two boys, Alexander and Gavin. Miss Sydney can't wait to meet them in only 11 or so more weeks!

June update

Sad news in our family this month...my grandfather, Frank Small, lost his 10 year battle with cancer and heart disease on June 8th. Papa, I feel so lucky to have had 28 years of memories with you. You'll be missed so much!

I am now 24 weeks pregnant, and feeling really good, minus the constant peeing (I know, tmi) and heartburn. Miss Sydney is progressing perfectly. As you can see by the picture below, I think her daddy is already completely smitten!

Stop yelling at me!

I've been hounded and harrassed by many to post some "baby bump" pics...so here they are. You can all stop yelling at me! And NO, I do not do bare belly shots, so don't even ask! These two are of me at 20 weeks. Only 20 more weeks to go, give or take a few. Our girl is quite active now, or at least now I can feel it. She seems to be a big fan of music like her mom, as she gets down while I ride to and from work with the music turned up loud and I sing along.

Let's see how many people read this...

Rumors are out there that there is a new Champagne due to enter the world in early October. Rumors are correct! We are soooo excited. We've heard the heartbeat twice, I'm not puking everyday, and we hit 12 weeks tomorrow, so we feel it's safe to share the news! Prepare for more blogging, as now I feel like we have something worthwhile to post.

Better late than never

We all know I'm not so good at keeping up with this blog thing! We arrived home from Mexico over two weeks ago...but here are some shots. We had great time, as always! Life back in the cold is busy as usual. There are many more pictures in the slideshow if you are interested.

His highness turned 30 last month...casino night was a hit, he was completely surprised, and he received enough money to buy his big-boy parachute. Thanks to all you came and contributed, we had a great time!

Long time no speak...

Wow, looks like we may be long overdue for an update! What's happened since April...hmmm...

Den has decided skydiving is his new method of treating his adrenalin junky disease. He went for the first time in late June. He survived the first jump unscathed, however on the second he sprained his ankle. Needless to say he hasn't rushed back to jump out of a perfectly good airplane as of yet, but now that the ankle is almost healed, I'm sure he'll be out there again soon. I wasn't able to be there, but Brucica surprised Denis at the jump site and took some photos...thanks Dad!

Izzie, the cutest dog EVER to live, continues to grow longer and longer, but no taller...we think she's part Dachshund. We clearly got the runt of the litter, but couldn't be happier! She is the best dog - loves her Daddy more than anyone, enjoys almost daily doggy-daycare at Mimi Champagne's house, and taking walks on the beach every morning at 6am with her Mom. (Don't worry, Mom's gotten used to it!) Look how big she is!

I think that's all for now. I'll try not to wait another 4 months before posting again!

Time for Spring?

Well, what a nasty "spring" we've had so far! We at the beach took a serious hit, first with the St. Patrick's Day ice storm, then with the Patriot's Day or Marathon storm. Thankfully, we survived the nor'easter and all it's flooding and beach erosion, coming out relatively unscathed, however many of our neighbors/family weren't so lucky. Here are some photos of the storm this week...man, are we ready for Spring!!!!!

Back from Mexico

Adios Mexico! The Champagne family's yearly pilgrimage to the Yucatan was fabulous as always! This year we got to spend time with the Winter's as well, Celeste and Gabrielle had a great time. Here are some shots from our vaca...
